Our Accreditations

AAHA stands for the American Animal Hospital Association, and their importance to the veterinary industry cannot be understated. AAHA is the accrediting body for companion animal hospitals in the United States, and their requirements for recognition have revealed that only 12 to 15 percent of hospitals in the US are accredited.

While AAHA recognition might be confused as the legal, national requirement for veterinary hospitals, this is not the case—animal hospitals do not have to be officially AAHA accredited before they can take care of pets. This ultimately creates a different standard and class of veterinary facilities, which many pet owners are unaware of.

For those practices that do meet these requirements, their clients and their pets can be comfortable knowing that their hospital holds themselves to a higher standard and will provide more thorough, responsive, sanitary and safe protocol which benefits everyone, especially the animals.

At Chena Veterinary Clinic, we have worked hard to be an AAHA-accredited practice and are proud to serve the pets of Fairbanks with the most modern, up-to-date veterinary techniques. As our promise to our clients, we will continue to stay at the forefront of veterinary care by maintaining our AAHA accreditation!
